Ferric chloride, also known as Iron (III) chloride, is used in brown patinas (copper, brass, bronze) as well as treatment of sewage, water purification, as an etching agent for engraving and photography, printed circuitry, a mordant in dyeing and printing textiles, oxidizing agent, and a clinical reagent.

Application

Mainly used as water treatment agent, printing plate, corrosive agent for electronic circuit board, chlorinating agent in metallurgical industry, oxidizing agent and mordant in dye industry, catalyst and oxidizing agent in organic synthesis industry, chlorinating agent, and is used to manufacture other iron salts, Raw materials for pigments and for mineral processing in mines.
