Copper Sulfate Pentahydrate is a blue crystalline inorganic salt with high water solubility. Its aqueous solution is slightly acidic. In mineral processing, it is one of the most widely used activators in the froth flotation of sulfide ores, especially for lead-zinc, copper-zinc and zinc-sulfur polymetallic ores.

It effectively activates depressed sphalerite, helping to improve zinc recovery and concentrate grade. It is a key reagent in many zinc flotation circuits and is also used as an auxiliary reagent in selected gold/silver cyanidation processes.

Product Usage

1. Sphalerite Activator
   In polymetallic sulfide flotation, sphalerite is often depressed by lime, cyanide or other depressants. Copper sulfate activates the sphalerite surface, allowing xanthate collectors to adsorb effectively and restoring its floatability.

2. Lead-Zinc, Copper-Zinc and Zinc-Sulfur Ore Flotation
   Used for the separation of zinc minerals from pyrite, pyrrhotite and other sulfides, improving zinc concentrate grade and recovery.

3. Gold and Silver Cyanidation
   May be used as an auxiliary reagent in some gold/silver cyanidation circuits. The suitability and dosage should be confirmed by laboratory tests.

4. Recommended Dosage
   Typically tens to several hundred grams per ton of ore. The optimum dosage depends on ore type, mineralogy, pH, reagent scheme and flotation circuit. Bench-scale flotation tests are recommended.
